GODFUCKINGDAMNIT! I bought Borderlands 2 for $5 on 360 and I hate it. The shooting sucks. The guns you start with are worse than useless. I have no idea how to kill the flying things on the damn lake in the very first level. I have no idea how to heal myself. They never should have released this for consoles. It's screaming for a mouse and keyboard. The voice-acting and NPCs are all superb though.
What I want is Borderlands open-ish world and humor/quality characters with Destiny's shooting and combat.

All of my friends play BL2 on the console actually. The game sucks when you first start due to crappy weapons. To kill those flying things (Rakks), just shoot them when they try to swoop in to attack you.
Did you check if there is Aim assist enabled in the options?

Did you not play the original Borderlands? The sequel is really kind of lack-luster compared to the original, because they never intended to make a sequel and all the best jokes and ideas were used in the original.
Also, can't really gib arms and legs like you could in the first one, and that's stupid. The guns also suck throughout the entire game, so not much to look forward to. Every chest is a huge disappointment.

The game fucking rocks on PS3, never had any issues with it.

No I've never played the first game. I thought it being #2 it would be better than 1. It was also $5. I am glad I never paid full price.
Gib? Huh? Great...I've noticed that already. Oh Sweet! A huge stack of bills...One dollar! Are you fucking kidding me!?
Where is my goddamn gun-sight!? The reticule is useless, okay so I'll shoot down my gun. None of them so far have any way to actually aim the damn things. How are you supposed to get headshots without a fucking gun-sight?
I would just go back to Destiny but now I get why everyone trashes the voice-acting now. Claptrap is hysterical.

I am not impressed. I much prefer the combat mechanics in Destiny.

I never had an issue with the shooting mechanics and as the guns get better, so do the accuracy, damage, firing rate, zoom elemental effects.

What class?
Commando is the best if you're on your own, in my opinion. There's a skill you get that heals you slowly if you have full shields.
Plus once you get abilities, it gets better.

I still like the way Destiny shoots. It took my all of 5 minutes to repeatedly head-shot enemies. BL is impossible to do that. Also Destiny gives you a nice, stable gun-sight to aim down. BL does not.
I don't care if it's more realistic either. It's a game. If I wanted realistic shooting I would head to the range.

I started as Zer0, because I like sniping from a distance. I don't really like any of the classes to be honest. I want an all-encompassing god-like warrior who can shoot from a distance, melee hoards to bits, and wield magic to distort reality to their advantage.

Assassin. They certainly do not let you play to your class strengths early on.

It's an RPG, brah. And the sights do work just fine it's just the accuracy of the initial guns suck, but you get better and better guns really quickly

Doesn't matter what type of game it is, they can still give you the option of long/medium or close range weapons to begin with.
Have you played Destiny at all? With the scout rifle, you can quickly pull off head shots to dispatch enemies at medium range. I'm still waiting on the gun that lets me do that in BL.
Also loot should be permanent. Breaking open those ice blocks and getting health when you don't need it and having it disappear before you can use it is infuriating.
At least it was only $5. I should just tell my wife that I am getting Destiny for Christmas and Santa arrived early. I do not think either game is as good as people say, but when the whole point is shooting things it had better be good at that and I prefer the way Bungie does it.

Eventually, you'll get shields and items that will provide healing abilities. You really need to either keep playing or have your wife play with you as the game play is co-op.
